This seems to be a problem with unsafe shell quotation at
https://github.com/rich-iannone/blastula/blob/3b69cbcf340be2bba4a9f1d29f6557747668aebf/R/send_email_out.R#L266-L268
beforehand, mailR was used internally to send the mail.
Whenever the current wd contains a space, the error arises.

Could you try using smtp_send() with the mailsend-go binary? The README has a link to install instructions.
