My name is Randy Rowland and I started my journey out by getting a degree in programming. After a few years I decided I needed a change of pace and moved into the cyber security realm.

I still code occasionally, but it is very limited and mostly small scripts or utilizing MkDocs to write playbooks.

This assignment presents code that collects a number from the user and then displays the number and a secret account number. Entering too many characters triggers the overwrite of the account number. Using the existing source code as a starting point, you need to prevent the user input from impacting the account number.

The idea is that I don’t want to wait until a challenging situation arises to have a plan; I want to already have potential mitigation strategies in my playbook that can help kickstart my process toward finding solutions.
