I'd also add that we can check to see if rootpy's import has finished, and if not emit a warning with showstack() enabled to show where the offender is.

This might be difficult for all but the top level modules without introducing some serious metaclass magic, because of things like class Pad(..., ROOT.TPad), but may not be impossible.

I have managed to get it so that import rootpy is only a few ms slower than import ROOT, even with everything on a networked filesystem, so this is already a big improvement.
