The reason that these messages appear is because my repo contains folders for things like the bootloader and windows drivers, which are not structly speaking "core" files as defined in the Arduino specification.
However i dont want to remove these folders at the moment, otherwise people would have to download them separately.
One workaround that i have seen used, is to put empty board.txt files in the other folders, as this supresses these messages.
However in the long term I will migrate to a Boards Manager package, in which case I have to completely restructure the whole repo, and in which case i expect i will move the files to a completely new account on github.
In the mean time, please ignore these messages.

Obviously the best way would be to go with Boards Manager package yet - personally - I'd very much prefer download documented things separately than have to work (even harmless) incompatibilities around.
