Error connecting to "api.dropbox.com" about xbmcbackup HOT 4 CLOSED

I'm going to guess it's a DNS issue with your internet, or internet provider. I just did a Dropbox backup from a clean install of XBMC Gotham Beta 2 on Windows. This included authorizing the app via Dropbox and doing the backup. Everything worked.

I'm also able to ping api.dropbox.com from the command line on my computer.

I can ping api.dropbox.com as well:

But whenever I try a backup, I get the stacktrace from my previous comment.

I'm really at a loss here. I'm assuming you tried the ping from the same box that you are attempting the backup from? The error is obviously a connection problem with that box to the Dropbox API web site, not even an authentication error or something. Just straight-up can't find it. I've tried Dropbox backups from several different computers, and even different internet connections and just can't reproduce it.

Exactly, pinging from the same box. I find it strange as well.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I'll investigate a bit more and post here if
I find anything.
