Thelast_over_time function is missing from Prometheus versions prior to 2.26:
https://promlabs.com/blog/2021/04/01/whats-new-in-prometheus-2-26/
Upgrading your Prometheus version to 2.26 or above will fix the issue.

Thanks @dgdevops, nice catch.
I've updating the README and am updating the issue's title.
Just a heads up - we're not prioritizing support for earlier Prometheus versions at the moment. But - as always - PRs are welcome.

Hey, we don't have any official guide on version compatibility right now. But if you do that research, please open a PR and contribute your findings!
We test KRR regularly on the version of kube-prometheus-stack bundled with Robusta OSS but we don't have a full test matrix beyond that. (Yet.)
Any contribution to docs or a testing system would be great.
