What am I up to?
Tweaking my dotfiles and everything Data, Linux, Kubernetes and Containers.
😁 What I am most proud of:
My wife having the bravery to leave a big tech company in order to grow a team at a startup.
📺 TV show that has had the most impact on my life:
I'm pretty sure by most psychological measures that the cast of Star Trek TNG has raised
me. The awesome dynamic between Geordi and Data when they were collaborating
and trying to come up with solutions to problems!!! Best thing ever.
🤔 What I tend to find myself day-dreaming about:
"When do babies start sleeping through the night?"
"Why are pavers so expensive for driveways?"
"Do I completely hate programming or do I love it more than anything else?" (I have a feeling that question is common one among people who have devoted their careers to code.)
😞 Cultural tragedies I plan to do my part as a new father to improve (92% of Devs are male...What??!!):
Women in STEM
Ageism in Tech
📖 Some of my favorite books:
Deep Work -- Cal Newport
Walking -- Henry David Thoreau
Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution -- Steven Levy
Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions -- Brian Christian and Tom Griffiths
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck & Everything Is Fcked -- Mark Manson
💼 Careers I might have if I ran into myself in an alternate dimension similar to Picard in Time Squared episode:
Handyman or Carpenter driving around in those awesome boxy vans filled with really useful tools
Professional Hockey Player bringing back the glory days for the Montreal Canadians and eating a lot of Poutine
STEM Professor with a cardigan and on over-inflated sense of his own intelligence.
Scifi Novelist
Seal Team Member
😛 My current obsession:
Building out my home workshop and pretending to be handy around the house
