Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately libgit2 v26 has broken submodule dependencies as reported in libgit2/git2go#407. There's no easy way to work around this and the only step that GRV could take would be to downgrade to git2go v25 which I'm not keen to do.

I've updated the README instructions to suppress the error output, as GRV will still build successfully from that point. libgit2 tagged v0.27.0-rc1 a couple of days ago and so hopefully it will be possible to upgrade to libgit2 v27 in a few weeks.

Libgit2 v0.26.3 has been released which fixes the broken submodule dependency and grv has been updated to use this new version. The error reported no longer occurs when running go get -d github.com/rgburke/grv/cmd/grv.
