That would be nice. Can I do that without having a maven repository to put them in? If not, I wonder if the "+" notation would work - eg. I can upload 1.2preX versions to my ftp server, and you should be able to use the 1.2pre+ notation to get builds.

Hello, if it work by applying correct script (as now mentioned in user guide) it's great solution for my need and maybe for other people as well

I've set up tellurianring to handle snapshot builds. You should be able to use this url for the apply from script now:
http://tellurianring.com/projects/gradle-plugins/gradle-release/1.2-SNAPSHOT/apply.groovy
