outputLua()
is for outputting Lua code to the final program (i.e. the argument should contribute to valid Lua code). @@
can only be used in the metaprogram (outside preprocessor lines or blocks). The resulting code is what's expected, but it doesn't make sense as it's not valid Lua. To do what (I think) you actually want you'd have to do something like this:
-- Change this:
outputLua("\t@@assert(type(signal) == 'string')\n")
-- into this:
outputLua("\t", assert("type(signal) == 'string'"), ")\n")
These three lines are equivalent:
@@assert(foo(), 5.8)
@insert assert(foo(), 5.8)
!!(assert("foo()", "5.8"))
from luapreprocess.
