It's usually F1 and that config file looks OK; the spaces around the = separators are optional. You've probably got a file in ~/.config/roxterm.sourceforge.net/Shortcuts/Default overriding that one. Try correcting it with a text editor or by changing the shortcut by pressing F1 when the mouse is hovering over the menu item.

Yes indeed.

I had emptied the shortcut from the menu because I needed F1 in an application. Now I just set it to F1 and roxterm starts without the error dialog.

OK. That sounds like I need to fix a bug after all because you should be able to remove shortcuts without getting an error.
