It appears as if the compiler cannot find the opt-in type conversion __conversion, as the latter two errors disappear when changing:
return left as StateTransitionChain => right
Into:
return left.__conversion() => right
And:
return left => right as StateTransitionChain
Into:
return left => right.__conversion()
Maybe worth filing a radar over this?
When fixing the above, it now throws the following build error, which leaves me stranded:
error: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin/libtool: unknown option character `X' in: -Xlinker
