Please look up 'minimally verifiable complete example' or see eg here.
I cannot help you with a mere collation of error messages. Sorry. If it helps you, here is the page at CRAN showing it works for them on every system and we may consider them to be unbiased referees.
Lastly, no need to file the same issue twice.

As an addendum, there is a fundamental issue here with you
- relying on
rocker/shiny
which @cboettig decided on base on Debian stable - repeat the last two words: Debian stable
- this is not the most current of system by design
- yet you turn around and treat it as a dev platform on which you assume you can build anything.
Points 1 and 4 are in conflict here. If I had to guess I'd start by checking
- is the compiler current enough
- do you have enough ram
- do you have all build-depends
- etc pp
RcppEigen works on any current Debian or Ubuntu system as evidenced by the fact that the distro has the binary. So you may have to give up either rocker/shiny
or RcppEigen
. This is not our bug in RcppEigen
so please do not file it here.
As I said before, Debian stable also has an RcppEigen package: sudo apt-get install r-cran-rcppeigen
. Of course this may be older and it may be rubbing with what you get from CRAN. But you simply cannot (always) have it both ways: Debian stable, which may be dated, and newest sources from CRAN. There may be issues as you are seeing now.
