@joshaumuthumani did you install the 1Password CLI via Brew?
If so, you'll need to change the path within the Raycast Extension Settings for 1Password to /opt/homebrew/bin/op
rather than /usr/local/bin/op
.
I was having similar issues but this seemed to resolve it for me 👍

Thank you so much. This is what was needed. Maybe we can request the Devs to add this to the FAQ/Help.

I do have the same problem, installed the 1Password CLI version 2.23.0 via brew and confirmed that it's working (i.e. by connecting my accounts and reading passwords etc.). I have also changed the path to /opt/homebrew/bin/op
as @joshaumuthumani suggested but it is still not working for me, I never get past the "You need to run the following..." screen.
I am using version 1.62.2 on an Macbook Pro M3 on Sonoma 14.1.1 if that helps. Any ideas or pointers? Greatly appreciated 😄

@int32at Please check the comment from @Prkns. For me I uninstalled the CLI agent and completely reinstalled and put in the /usr/local/bin/op path.

Apologies for my potential oversight. I'm using Ventura on an M2 MacBook Air and i am not 100% sure if brew
is prefixed differently on Sonoma. If you run brew config
in your terminal and check the HOMEBREW_PREFIX
line, that might be different to what i stated earlier.
For me (on my setup) it was /opt/homebrew
, yours may be different so it could be worth checking and amending as per your setup.

Thank you for your quick responses @joshaumuthumani @Prkns, appreciate your help and insights 👍 I did check my homebrew version and prefix and they seem to align with your system (the prefix at least):
HOMEBREW_VERSION: 4.1.21
HOMEBREW_PREFIX: /opt/homebrew
Weirdly enough when I simply move the op
binary from the /opt/homebrew
folder to the default location as such:
sudo mv /opt/homebrew/bin/op /usr/local/bin
the extension works perfectly 👍
I checked the code of the extension and both of these locations should actually be supported as default paths but the "regular" installation via brew does not seem to be working for my brew + OS version somehow. I've gathered the logs while requesting the extension (as described here) but I'm failing to see what could possibly be wrong here!
