A quick question on the here listed requirements
Do you foresee a usage on the IPA side of the full list of camera modes? In the current implementation it is required in order to find the currently used mode, but apart from that I don't see any usage in any algorithm. Is it fair to assume it is enough to provide to your IPA the currently used mode only ?

No, I think the IPA only ever needs to know the currently used mode. Hopefully that makes the implementation simpler as well.
