Note that one shouldn't necessarily just add a link to this search function to p6doc content because p6doc needs to work as a non-web local command line tool too.

can it be tied directly in to duckduckgo's Perl 6 search?
I doubt it would work well on DuckDuckGo. The search already exists, and probably the only thing it's possibly lacking is searching for operators. As for completions, they are from Wikipedia, there is no API for plugins to put additional completions.

The search feature now appears on the home page of doc.perl6.org . When the site has a more complete template, and the build system distinguishes between html files for local use vs web use, it should appear on every page in the header, a la perldoc.perl.org . Further enhancements to come, but should we consider this issue adequately resolved for the time being?
