For my own recollection, this is probably best implemented by only allowing the AD9959 to be externally clocked. Probably best to keep the pico under its own clock always.
Only downside is if someone really wants to ensure external triggers line up with Pico clock cycles consistently, but I suspect that the 10ns jitter in clock mis-match will be largely irrelevant given the timings of the AD9959 (100ns to 10us).
