But a share is not necessarily uploaded yet - or is it, because it's the nature of a shared file to be somewhere else aka be uploaded?
And an upload shouldn't be marked as shared by default - as it exlusively belongs to the respective owner by default.

Why would i define a share without uploading it?
If i upload files which i just want to distribute over my different devices (that just i have access to them) is that a share, too?
I did not write that an upload is marked as shared by default. it is the location on the server where i can upload my stuff to and then decide whom i give access to by sending the corresponding tokens to a contact.

Okay, then let's always assume a share to be always resident on the server (aka Share implies Upload). Makes things easier :-)

Upload is definitely the wrong word. I associate upload with something other than described by @f-porter and I assume I'm not the only one.

So a Share/Local-share is exlusively related to a Module, not to the Core. These specific words will also become removed from the Config specs. Thus, there's no need to talk about Shares when developing the Core anymore(, right?).
An Upload should then be just seen as a Blob that is stored in the Storage which is not acccessible to other users by default.

As we in the meeting yesterday share, local share and upload are part of the qabel-file-module. So I close this issue and the wording will be defined later in that module repository.
