As @lfryc suggested, a possible solution is to use ShrinkWrap Maven Resolver which is able to resolve Maven artifacts in runtime.

Btw. what is your use case? We use the driver for testing, so it isn't problem the artifacts are resolved in build time.

We built a servlet which is able to render a GWT application for a Webcrawler without JS support. ghostjs is used for the rendering part.
So the driver is put into a web application and we have multiple target operating systems for developlent, testing and production.

I've tried to rewrite the resolver to use ShrikWrap, so it's able to determine the OS in runtime. Could you test it in your environment?
The pull request is available here: #3, it works only with some modifications of arquillian-phantom-binary (from this pull request qa/arquillian-phantom-binary#3).

Hi Jan, I'll test your changes when I'm back in the office which is in about 2 and a half weeks.

Current version of driver is able to resolve the binary in runtime using ShrinkWrap Maven Resolver.
According my results this issue should be fixed thou.
Would be nice if you could re-test on your env, @flexguse
