canGet is set to False, because GitLab API doesn't allow retrieving single keys, only list of keys. However canGet doesn't have anything to do with creating objects, so you might have some other problem. Would you mind posting some code that replicates the issue?

Yes, you are right, my mistake. I just saw another difference in my old non-working code. Sorry to trouble you.
