This commit is important for proper Unicode support e37caaf. The changes in the registry python discovery code to match the policy change introduced in Python 3.5 might be important for Windows users.
I will try to backport Lazarus compatibility from your fork, but a Pull Request from your side would be very welcome. To make it easier I could add you as a contributor to this repository.
By the way has https://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=20849 been fixed in fpc? This is what put me off originally.
