The current class was a first attempt to translate our SVI API as closely as possible. I am on board with using a more functional approach which jives well with jax's philosophy as well, if we can provide further helpers to avoid having to cycle in arguments.
Unless you already have a draft ready, I would suggest not spending too much time on this yet. This is a low risk refactor and can be attempted once we have a few more examples ready.
