Additional notes
- Output of detectBrowserPlatform showed that I am on
darwinwithx64architecture. - Most probably it's related to https://issues.chromium.org/issues/343505112 issue.
- Switching to
npx @puppeteer/browsers install chromefixes the issue.

Potentially unrelated, but maybe worth mentioning: Chromium binaries are not reliably available across all platforms from https://developer.chrome.com/blog/chrome-for-testing:
We know that many developers download Chromium (not Chrome) binaries instead, although this approach has some flaws. First, these Chromium binaries are not reliably available across all platforms.

I don’t think that blog post meant this situation. https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/5608690 should fix it, looks like archive builder for x64 was reconfigured to arm64 by mistake.
