Hi ohohco,

Because goquery works only with a tree of html nodes (provided by the go.net/html package), and not a full-fledged DOM as in the browser, it only provides a read-only API, so you can't alter the nodes (altering the nodes would not have any visible effect unless you serialized back the nodes to their HTML form).

Now a while ago it was mentioned that someone wanted to use goquery for a template engine or something like that. I can see how a write API could be useful in such circumstances, and I would be open to merge pull requests that added such "node-altering" features (with tests, and "in the spirit" of the rest of the package, meaning staying true to the jQuery API and following the naming conventions of this package).
