Okay, here's a real bug. I found your line that says, "The answer I'm looking for lies below. I need to find how to not add redundant things back into the expression." and it is true. There really is an issue with duplicate things being added back into the expression. I am finding that to be an issue. While debugging I noticed the expression growing and growing because duplicates keep appearing. I will report back if I find anything that may help.
