I'll work on something and let you know when it's ready for you to test out. I'm not sure about a timeline yet, though. I'm just getting back after a long vacation so I have a lot of catching up to do everywhere else.

@dropdennisdead - I'm not sure if you had an opportunity to try the pre-release to see if it worked for you, but our friend @jrspowers said that it was working well so I just published it in the latest official release v2.3.10
If this doesn't do what you were hoping, please let me know. Thanks!

@PRProd sorry for the late reply.
I just got version v2.3.10 and the clear background works!
The update removes the entire background of a map. How would it be possible to keep the outer frame of a card? Thank you in advance for your great work!

Are you asking for something that looks like this instead? (this image is a mock-up, not made from actual code)
If that's the case, then I will get back to work on it. Also, I will still need a copy (for testing) of these two files that live on your Home Assistant instance:

Yes, that's what I meant. (Sorry for my bad explanation) The two files were old links to special Homekit and Google backgrounds, which are currently no longer needed. I forgot to delete them from the YAML file.

I got stuck trying to reproduce your environment, and I still didn't manage to succeed. However, I did find a different way to try, and I'd like for you to test it out for me. Please download pre-release version v3.0.3b1 and let me know if that works any better for you.
Also, @jrspowers - Since you are using this too, can you take a look at it and make sure the v3.0.3b1 version still does what you expect?
