We're reading /proc/diskstats for this, which has the following fields only:

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/ABI/testing/procfs-diskstats

No bytes in there, unfortunately. If there's a similarly easy datasource that includes bytes read/written, we could consider that.

From what I can see in the code, it's always 512 bytes per sector:
