We now have support on osx for the following collectors:

  • cpu
  • memory
  • netdev
  • filesystem

Therefor going to close this. For more osx metrics we can create new issues.

Yes, no surprise there :) This started mostly as a Linux exporter, and then FreeBSD collectors were added. Feel free to contribute OS-X-specific collectors as well.

FWIW, I'm about 80% sure I won't be able to contribute to any of prometheus components, as a result of my place of employment and prometheus' inspiration :D

@yacoob Oh really? Would have thought they'd be cool about that, with them even using Prometheus in Kubernetes, cAdvisor, etc. At least there seems to be an interest in making Prometheus work well :)

Maybe we can get someone from Apple's OSX team to contribute some darwin internals to the node_exporter.

I've changed the title to keep this around as general issue to add osx metrics. I'm interested in this as well and can allocate some time for this.
I already tried to migrate the node-exporter to use go-psutils but that didn't work well.
/cc @matthiasr - since you were interested as well.

Could you let me know which connector can be used on osx for monitoring cpu, memory etc.?
