You can test this pretty easily. If you make changes to two files and run git diff
it will show both changes. If you run git add
on one of them and then run git diff
again it will only show the change to the other file. If you run git diff --staged
it will show the change that you just staged. If you run git diff HEAD
it will show both changes - everything that is changed since the last commit.
