Setting the undo points here must be disrupting the keymap.

A possible fix will be saving the keymap value before setting the undo points and restoring the value afterwards. I'll need to look into this to ensure it won't break anything else.

Is there any update on this issue? I am facing the same problem. Thanks :)

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to look at this due to non-Vim distractions.

If anyone can come up with a tested patch, I can merge it.

Not directly related, but #50 and #82 have just touched the way remapped keys get mapped by Pencil.

More to the point, I am unable to replicate the issue described here. I regularly use a keymap and have never run into this. I type with a programmer's DVORAK layout keyboard and have a vim keymap that I use to map that to a Turkish-F layout. My use of prose related vim plugins is largely used for the Turkish book editing and publishing work I do, so the keymap is a pretty regular thing for me.

Are either of you still having problems with this @Xifax and @ultimatecoder? I'd be happy to look into it sometime if this was never solved for your usage.
