That probably means you're using the development branch examples with the module code from the master branch. If you're using the development branch versions of the DscConfiguration / etc modules, you don't get that error. (Application folder is gone, and Credentials no longer errors if not present.)

The examples could use some more work, though. Right now they're just demonstrations of how to call Invoke-DscBuild, and how to use Resolve-DscConfigurationProperty in a few different scenarios, when you get right down to it.

You are probably correct in that I'm using the wrong version of the module, I will triple check everything and get back to you.
