Have you set POWERSHELL_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT?

To opt-out of this telemetry, set the environment variable $env:POWERSHELL_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT to true, yes, or 1.

$env:POWERSHELL_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT=1 did not fix it

note I also did: Office 365, we could go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > View Diagnostic Data > Disable View data viewing.

The env var above completely disables AppInsights telemetry as we've documented. If you are still seeing data being sent, it's not from PowerShell.

I think that Visual Studio is closed-source, so I assume that your best bet is to use the Feedback Hub app.

OK I think I fixed it - I was setting POWERSHELL_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT in Microsoft.PowerShell_profile.ps1, but it needs to be set BEFORE PowerShell starts:
