Local SMTP Endpoint Route Not Working about postal HOT 5 CLOSED

Are you able to see any more clues from postal logs smtp? Are you running Gitlabs SMTP on a different port now that you've entered into the SMTP route?

Thank you for your reply. I apologize, I just realized I didn't explain that GitLab is on a separate VM, so I didn't need to change the SMTP port there. Postal is running on it's own server and the SMTP Endpoint just has the IP of the GitLab server (and the default port 25).

Did you have a look at the SMTP logs in Postal?

Add SMTP Endpoint with internal IP address

I just spotted this, I bet that is the problem. I think it has to be a hostname in the box rather than an IP address.

Perfect! This was, in fact, the issue. I had to add an entry to my /etc/hosts so that it resolved correctly internally, but once I did that, it worked with the hostname rather than IP.
