Are you using: cat /var/log/system.log
Or something like this: cat /var/log/system.log | grep AICPUPMI:
I ask this because only the first command works!

Using the first i.e examining cat /var/log/system.log in Console

Hmm. That's odd because the output you have there is not that from the latest version. Did you remove stuff or not?

I downloaded your files as zip and compiled kext using latest Xcode beta 6 in 10.10, only setting made was to set base SDK as 10.10 before doing a build - I am only learning at Xcode, so please correct me if I did something wrong in the build procedure. I then loaded kext, fixed permissions etc.
I can see no trace of your older kext (AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementInfo.kext) in my list of extensions...

Do you see something like this in system.log:

AICPUPMI: v1.0 Copyright © 2012-2014 Pike R. Alpha. All rights reserved

AICPUPMI: logMSRs............................: 1
AICPUPMI: logIGPU............................: 1
AICPUPMI: logIntelRegs.......................: 1
AICPUPMI: logCStates.........................: 1
AICPUPMI: logIPGStyle........................: 1

Please verify this. Also. Are you loading the kext from /S_/L_/Extensions, then try adding msgbuf=393216 in /L_/P_/SystemC*/com.apple.Boot.plist

laserhive avatar laserhive commented on July 24, 2024

No, I am not getting that in the log [and the addition to the com.Apple.Boot.plist (in Kernel Flags??) did not seems to make a difference on reboot].

I am sure it is very much a noob error on my part no doubt. Don't worry about it . …it's really not life or death to me. I'll go away and read up some more about using Xcode. Thanks again for your time and all your work.

Do you need to enable kernel debug/logging to see this? I know this is crazy, but I'm trying to glean some info what VirtualBox is presenting to a 10.9.4 host, running on a i7-4710HQ, and would like to try this. Do you have something compiled I can try?

from appleintelinfo.

Piker-Alpha avatar Piker-Alpha commented on July 24, 2024

No, You can find the output in /var/log/system.log right after the kext started.
And no. You have to compile it yourself.
