Resize method creates horrible images in Imagick. about imagine HOT 7 CLOSED

Can you provide me an example input/output. It might be that we'd need to use both, choosing which one based on the source and target sizes of an image

The one that went through the thumbnail method looks as though it's used a far better interpolation algorithm to me. The other is rather choppy.

Sorry. I accidentally overwrote each image with the previous! I've now edited the links above. Once again, apologies for the strange image and the odd cropping. I wanted to make sure there was some text in there as that's where the difference is most obvious.

Looking at it in further detail the adaptive version is applying a filter to preserve edges. I guess it performs much better when the relative change in dimensions is small.
