I think this is something to do with thread synchronization. I'll try to repro on my mac.

Exactly which Mac version is this on? 10.13.1 seems to be working for me.

New release 1.3 crashes for me on 10.13.5 every time. However, I've seen issues with Gitian builds where it's quite intermittent and only crashes every 2nd or 3rd time

I'm on 10.13.5 as well and it crashed twice in a row at about the same point in the log as I described above.

For me it gets to Verifying wallet... every time. It seems to happen when it is initializing the GUI. I'm trying to get a version built without debugging symbols stripped so I can figure out the exact point at which it's crashing.

Gitian uses depends i believe so couldn't you just compile the mac wallet with depends idk

This appears to be the same Gitian build issue we've seen previously, I think we can close this for now given that we've issued v1.3.0 and v1.3.1 with Mac High Sierra builds that work. We can open and track a separate issue for Gitian building a Mac High-Sierra compatible version separately.
