@laantorchaweb I'm open to suggestion. I like the font of the word "Maria" on the site now. It is http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Parisienne . I like the idea of a pure black and white design. I generally like minimal design. I'm open to suggestion.

The home page should have some kind of introduction. Maybe the introduction in the README.md would be good. What do you think?

Of course, anyone who designs the site can have their name tastefully added at the bottom with a link to promote themselves.

Awesome, i'd like some minimal design too, yes i think we need more content in the home page. I was thinking to give more importance to the example projects, maybe some screenshoots in a slider?
Something like this?

This is what I have for now. What do you think? I added the blue color but could be another one.
The menu at the top was to maintain some navigation when in the inner sections.
Should we put a "fork me" ribbon? a big ol download button?

@laantorchaweb,

Sorry for the delay. Work required my undivided attention for a couple days.

I like the second treatment more. Some thoughts...

I like the plain white background.

I've been thinking the word "Maria" doesn't needs to be so big taking up valuable real estate. It could be in the upper left corner like the name on the http://functionite.com/ site.

Should we include the introduction text from the README talking about the roles of the model, view, and controller in MVC?

Visually, I like the four boxes for quick start, plugins, API documentation, and Github. What happens when there are more items to link to? Just keep tiling them in more rows?

There should be a big download button to get the latest release.

We could have "Fork me" ribbon but with a couple links to github already perhaps it isn't necessary.

I didn't think the example projects deserve so much focus but it just never crossed my mind to give them that much focus. Maybe linking directly to the code browser for each example on Github for the particular example?

Thank you for helping move this forward. :-)

What about a little news box that can announce new releases or other timely information? Maybe just a twitter account who's tweets are displayed on the home page?

Np, i'm with a lot of work these days too.

I'll put the maria text at the side, and maybe a small navigation at the right.

Under the tagline we can place the readme text and the download button.

After this text the quick start boxes... I think they should always be four, the more important sections the user should visit, but the css will be prepared to add more in different rows.

Yes, maybe is redundant to have the fork me ribbon, the meaning behind this was to try to empathize the cooperative will of the project, maybe some text below the github box could show this.

I had doubts with the examples also, they are taking too much attention that should be placed in the framework itself.

I like the idea of the feed to show that the project is always alive. If you want the twitter account is no biggie, maybe is the more accurate to show updates without having to change some file on the server.

Sorry for the delay, I'm starting a new project and having a lot of work, this is just an update of the current state of the design proccess. I was thinking to display a small tooltip on the hover state of the download buttons, to show what's the difference between the files. Greetings.

I think the general layout looks really good. Thanks. I'm going to start moving the content in this direction and we can tweak as we go. I'm excited to have better looking pages.
