Perfectly fair. I'd still push this into Project Settings instead of having it everywhere. Not a priority. Just wanted to contribute my thoughts. Put it low-pri.

This is a good observation, but one thing to consider is that this was built originally as separate modules (VAICOM, Chatter, AIRIO) and separate dll's, so that could explain the different packages containing the information instead of it being centralized. In your example you have info for the files that build the Chatter.dll and AIRIO.dll so it would make sense they were once separate in the original source code.

Added Directory.Build.targets to Development branch. Allow Version strings across multiple projects.
Will migrate to Beta and Master in time. Closing Issue.
