This is not a bug of VAICOM.
DCS added a feature that server admins can opt in to, that requires pure scripts on all clients. As VAICOM changes scripts, they are not pure anymore.

But - there is a bug in DCS atm and that is more likely that you hit that bug as most servers haven't enabled the option. Restart your DCS and try again.

Went ahead this morning and completely removed VA, VAICOM, scripts, and anything else I could find related to it, then reinstalled. It is now working and passing IC check. I still cannot select the proper install location per instructions (I am on steam install of VA and DCS) - however it works fine anyway.

I cannot reproduce the pathing issue, the menu that pops up when I press set does have my desktop and such, but also has things like "this PC" that's where your drives will be.

Yeah it feels like a distinctly me problem. Not sure how ai can fix, tried a little with permissions but no dice. Windows 11 2022H2 for what it's worth.

Check in the VAICOM discord, I put a message up for some guy that had a similar problem. You most likely need to fix your registry in regard of your DCS installation path. Search for "regedit" in discord.

@karel26 Thank you. I searched and that person had same exact issue I did. I actually had stumbled on the registry edit fix myself which explains why it has been working in my case. Might be worth adding this to a wiki or something since it has happened to at least one other person.

Closing this as DCS Pure Client requirements is causing the issue. Adding note on pure clients to the readme. As Vaicom alters core DCS lua files, only a change to DCS will allow Vaicom to be whitelisted.
