Hi! The default concurrent_limit is 5000, so you shouldn't be hitting it (https://github.com/peers/peerjs-server/blob/master/lib/server.js#L174)

Did you pass in a custom concurrent_limit?

Whoops, I totally forgot to close this issue. The problem was that I had reverted a commit which pointed PeerJS at our personal PeerJS server, and we had been using the public one. I assume that the public server was overloaded and was the one complaining.

I'm seeing this error as well all day today. I don't really have much traffic either hitting your servers and I seem to be getting this error nonstop.

I suggest running your own PeerJS server if you need reliability. It's pretty easy to get a free instance of one on Heroku.

Well, this is for ChiliPeppr Hardware Fiddle to allow folks to watch their
CNC machine or 3D printer via WebRTC in the browser. It's hosted on Google
App Engine. Could I just run an instance of PeerJS on Google App Engine
inside my existing project?
