Yes, the lesson still completes as long as it believes you've achieved the goal state.

FWIW, looking up the way to get this goal state was actually the only reason I tried this project.

The current answer is to be on main and run git rebase HEAD bugFix by the way.

I suspect that when you give rebase a branch it can replay your commits on... it really replays your commits on that branch. So if you give it a remote or a commit hash (or HEAD) then it replays it on a detatched head.

These lessons are quite old (over 11 years old) so they were written against an earlier version of git. So I'm not surprised if the particular behavior of certain commands (or default args) have shifted over time :/
