I just received an update yesterday that CSIRO is no longer using SuSE as the standard linux environment, and has moved to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS as their standard linux workstation image. For this reason I suggest we close this issue, as it's just going to disappear over time. Ubuntu LTS releases are included in the standard OS test suite for UV-CDAT, correct?

no they're not officially, but that's my OS at the moment, so pretty much yes as long as I stick to ubuntu ;)
