curl: (25) Failed FTP upload: 553 about docker-vsftpd HOT 3 CLOSED

Based on VSFTPD 553 error: could not create file on AskUbuntu I fixed it by changing the owner of the root directory (/srv/) to the FTP user ftp`:

docker run …
docker exec mock_ftp_server chown ftp:ftp -R /srv/
curl …

Could you confirm that's not a security risk?

You will need to make your own assessment we are unable to tell you if this is a security risk in your environment.

If you want to be able to write to a file or directory the ftp user must have write permissions which you have done via chown ftp:ftp -R /srv/ in the container.

@trnubo Thanks for your concern, this issue arise in the context of running my project's tests. So no security risk as this is not happening on production and never will.
