Ditto. I've created a generic "install an instance and create an A record" module with a flag that allows you to skip the creation of DNS records (mainly for creating the DNS servers - good ol' chicken 'n' egg problems).
Fortunately, we're using versioned modules via terragrunt, so I can just use an old version of the module when I provision my DNS servers that predates the "create an A record" feature.
Still, it would be nice to get this fixed.
