I managed to workaround this by using:
php composer.phar install --prefer-distAs for how to fix this, I'm not sure why oro needs this specific commit "57a05d5", it doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Not sure if we could get away with just using dev-master or "7b81dd6" which is currently the latest commit.
