Totally agree this should move to an extension, especially given that the exporter is an extension.
Regarding bundling into core or not... I am worrying less and less that folks will find extensions when they need them. It also will help encourage us to put more work into our extension ecosystem where we can eventually make it easier for discovering, installing, uninstalling(disabling) extensions.
- So moving very niche, specific workflow features, that are not applicable to all should first move into an extension.
- Then, the question of bundling the extension with OpenRefine or not. I would not bundle, because, this question will go away completely once we have put more work into the extension ecosystem to making discovering, installing/uninstalling into the OpenRefine core itself instead of webpages and word of mouth.
