For some reason the user's home directory in Windows 7 is actually C:/Users/MyUsername/Documents and not C:/Users/MyUsername as I originally thought. Maybe you can also write one sentence how users can find out their home directory (for example using the R command Sys.getenv("HOME"))

I'll finish this today. Is there a reason why the login-name is called "username" in the config file and "email" in the authenticateUser function? And can I change "username" to "email" if there is no special reason, just for consistency?

Probably just a mistake.
The naming must be consistent, please change.

We decided to call it "email" in authenticateUser to make it clear. I suggest to always call this "email" instead of "username" and adapt the client-API Wiki.

The problem is that this is a much harder change as we would have to talk to everybody. For now we need to accept the definition. Use "username" and document it accordingly.
