It is actually crashing when the on screen up-navigation button is pressed, but doesn't crash if the hardware back button is pressed.

An apk I installed always crashed on the emulator, but works fine on a physical device.
Update: Emulator has the developer options to mimic low memory by destroying activities when they are backgrounded. This case is not common, but still an issue.

I believe most emulators should have this developer option. I can reproduce the crash on the physical device when I enable this settings as well.
