How you configure the TV? Using configuration.yaml or User Interface.
Please try commenting any line on configuration.yaml related to the TV, delete the integration in User Interface, reboot and reconfigure integration with User Interface. Be sure that TV is turned on during configuration, mac-address should be automatically detected after confirming permission prompt on tv screen.

Works after a complete purge and new setup from GUI. I have used both ways back and forth and I guess that is what has confused the integration.
At some point though there was this in core.device_registry:

[
"mac",
"address",
"mac",
"None"
]
]
And then it didn't work but I can't recreate it.
I guess we can close it and I will reopen if the error comes back and I can see a reason for it.
