Thorn, I haven't seen any crashes of that sort myself, and the log you posted
looks
fine. Did anything change between your successful run of 0.1.5 and your faulty
run of
0.1.6? New drivers? Hardware? etc...

What version of DF are you running?

I am running 40d11, the mayday build. No nothing has changed since I was
initially
able to run it. I ran it all day day before yesterday, and today when I went to
use
it, it wouldn't run anymore.

Two odd things though. The log file I sent shows me logging a hundred and
fourty
some-odd dwarves. My fort only has eighty three. Also another odd thing it
did..it
set all of my dwarves to number of weapons zero. This caused all my miner
dwarves to
stow their picks and stop digging until I went through and unselected and re-
selected mining in their v-p-l menu.

When I get home from work, I will try unzipping them and running them again. If
it's
still a no-go, I can try another computer, and if still a no go, I can zip up
my
entire DF directory and send it to you. It's less than 10mb.

Thanks
Thom

Hmm the log shows names for all those dwarves. You weren't possibly running
more than
1 copy of DF were you? :)

It may have connected to a DF you had minimized or something, and read dwarves
from
there. The 0 weapons thing is a bug in 0.1.5 that is fixed in .6 Sorry about
that!

If you keep encountering problems we can figure out a way to get me a copy of
your
fort. I've done almost 100% of the dev for this thing on the mayday d11 pack.
So I
know it works well under most circumstances.

Nah, it was utterly baffling because; I have NEVER had a fortress with more
than 100
dwarves. I always restart before that point. I did not have time to compare
names,
as I had to get ready for work.

And granted I could be wrong, but I am pretty positive I only had one copy
running.
Besides, I only have one active fort running right now, so even if I had two
coppies
running, and it picked up another, or both of them, how would it get names of
dwarves that didn't exsist, as both forts would be the same fort, with the same
(repeated) names.

Like I said, when I get home from work this morning (I work graves) I will give
it a
go again, and relay the results. Or, actually maybe I will remote into my
system and
see what I can do.

Thanks again,
Thom

Oh wait...one thing I didn't add....this happend the first time I ran 0.1.6.
The
other day, all I had been running was 0.1.5. Today I tried six, and all I
recieved
were the faults. I tried five again, same thing. If that helps any.

Hmm, okay...DF won't run through either VNC or Remote Desktop...bummer. And for
some
reason I cannot run Therapist at work...Most likely because I don't have admin
rights on the machine I work on.

So I will update you in the morning.

Sorry about the delay. I had my system drive on this computer go out on Monday,
and
with work, it took me a while to get it back up. Luckily, or unluckily
actually, I
still have a problem.

After loading up my old fort on DF, and downloading a new copy of DT0.1.6, I
have
not the same exact problem, but the program won't lauch.

Error "The application has failed to start because the configuration is
incorrect.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

So the build of Windows Xp I am using is different, since I re-installed.
Currently
I am generating a new world using a version of 40d12 that I modded with all the
mayday mods, to see if I experience the same issue. If not, I will know it's
that
one fort. If so...I'd have no idea what's causing it.

Nope, same exact error. It's not my fort. Going to try it on a clean version of
d11...

Okay, problem gone. The original fault must have had something to do with my OS
install, maybe the failing drive that I was unaware of at the time. Thanks for
the
help.
